In addition to the trainings provided by GOJoven, we are now offering participating institutions an opportunity to competitively apply for a small grant to strengthen their organizational capacity. Each participating organization can apply for up to $3000 to support events, activities or a consultant to strengthen institutional capacity to promote improvements in the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and youth. With a maximum of 20% of funds available for equipment, the requested funds can be used for activities, conferences, workshops, materials, exchanges and technical assistance in topics such as:
- Strategic planning
- Evaluation and monitoring
- Proposal writing and fundraising
- Development, implantation and evaluation of projects
- Human resources and conflict resolution
- Policy and advocacy
- Gender equity and sexual diversity
- Sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth development, and other topics
The Institutional Strengthening Fund is specifically for the institution or organization’s development and the funds will be awarded directly to the institution/organization. One of the requirements to apply for this Institutional Strengthening Fund is for the organization’s director to work with the Summit Fellow in the organization to define the best way to use the funds.
Project proposals will be selected based on the following criteria: alignment with GOJoven’s Institutional Strengthening Fund Objectives; clarity of objectives, activities, and budget; contribution of in-kind organizational resources to the project; plans to sustain project after GOJoven IS Funding is completed; long-term organizational capacity building potential; creativity and innovation; active and compensated involvement of Summit Fellow.
